Welcome back to The Horror Project Podcast!

This October, Laura and Phil head into the world of Classic Universal Monsters with our Listener’s Choice pick: Phantom of the Opera (1943), chosen by @Lenore1987 AKA Becky!

Starring Claude Rains as the tragic (and decidedly dramatic) Phantom, this Technicolor classic has it all: opera, romance, murder, Gothic gloom, and one VERY enormous opera house.

But is Erique Claudin truly terrifying… or just a misunderstood musician with terrible luck, poor money management, and an even worse living situation?

We dive into the film’s curious split between opera and horror, Christine’s three rival love interests (and who we’re rooting for!), those cavernous opera-house interiors, and Claudin’s tragic transformation from talented musician to murderous Phantom.

️Opera! Romance! Murder! Technicolor mayhem! What more could you want?

Thanks for listening!

Welcome back to the Horror Project Podcast!

This week, Laura and Phil finally enter the world of Hell House LLC — because apparently, opening a haunted house comes with a few more risks than expected!

A documentary crew investigates the unexplained tragedy that took place on opening night in 2009, where 15 people lost their lives. What really happened inside Hell House, and why are there still so many unanswered questions?

We dive into the Hell House franchise for the first time, chat about found-footage horror, share our own scare-house experiences, and follow Alex and his crew as they prepare for their terrifying opening night.

Grab your torch, ignore all the obvious warning signs, and join us… if you dare!

Get ready for some glorious 80s Halloween madness as Laura and Phil take a look at Night of the Demons (1988)!

A group of high school students decide to throw a Halloween party in an isolated funeral parlor — because apparently that seemed like a perfectly sensible idea! Things take a turn when a séance accidentally releases a demon from the crematorium, and the partygoers start getting possessed one by one.

We dive into all the spooky 80s goodness, from classic horror tropes and outrageous fashion to fabulous hairstyles, nudity, unexpected twists and a wonderfully diverse cast. We also chat about Judy’s reluctance to attend Angela’s party, Suzanne’s very unusual lipstick hiding place, and plenty of other wonderfully bonkers moments.

So grab your popcorn and join us for some classic 80s demonic mayhem.
