A retired fisherman finds a young woman at a river bend - badge logs tie an HVAC tech to the service entrance; how did that expose them?

The HVAC badge that kept logging the river path

In this episode, we follow the records and routines that link multiple women's deaths along the Sutter River to a campus service corridor. The episode covers badge logs, recurring medical-exam findings, and the investigators who noticed the pattern; what made the badge stand out as a thread connecting the cases?

Person: Leanne Bosch, 21
Person: Christine Holmes, 22
Person: Mara Settles, 20
Person: Jody Pratt, 23

- At 6:10 a.m. on April 4, 2002, a retired fisherman pulled Leanne Bosch from the Sutter River with a motel keycard sealed in her jacket pocket.
- Christine Holmes was found April 9, 1994, at the same river deposit bend; her sneakers were placed side by side with laces tucked.
- Dr. Felix Gruner ruled Christine’s, Mara Settles’s (April 1997), and Jody Pratt’s (April 2000) deaths as accidental drownings with near-identical language in each report.
- Harlen Falls Facilities and Mechanical logs show Earl Kowalski badged into the East Mechanical corridor, which exits onto the river path, on the nights near all three April disappearances.
- Nine work orders were logged for the East Mechanical service entrance in the six weeks before Christine’s death, but parts inventory shows no repairs completed and no one connected them to her case.
