Is the simple tale of “the boy who would be king” old hat in the age of the female driven “romantasy?” Is Tolkien still the best to ever do it? Are the present fantasy authors playing a way different, and less artistic, game than Tolkien? Is fantasy in a medieval state of arrested development? Why do so many new fantasy books lean so hard on…hard ons. All will be discussed in this blunt, hilarious examination of Ron’s favorite (and Ed’s least favorite) genre.
