Detective Danny Clover solves crimes along the Great White, an area he describes as "the gaudiest, the most violent…the lonesomest mile in the world." The series initially began in New York with Anthony Ross but shifted to Hollywood where, under the eye of New York-born director Elliott Lewis and writers David Friedkin and Morton Fine, the series became a poetic look at crime in the Big Apple, and how it impacted the mosaic of people who lived there. Larry Thor took over as Danny Clover, delivering a world-weary performance. He was supported by Charles Calvert, who brought light moments as the Sergeant Gino Tartaglia.

Also known as Broadway is My Beat.

    Today's Mystery: Detective Danny Clover investigates the murder of Ruth Nelson, a woman found stabbed to death on the very day she was released from prison after serving thirty years. As Clover searches for answers, he discovers that Ruth’s past may hold the key to her death. The investigation takes another turn when Louise Downey, the woman who helped Ruth find a place to live, is also found dead. Clover must uncover the connection between the two women and the secrets someone is determined to keep hidden.

    Today's Mystery: Detective Danny Clover investigates a dangerous situation surrounding dancer Sylvia Douglas after she claims that Peter Ciuro wants to kill her. Ciuro insists that he loves Sylvia and points Clover toward another man, longshoreman Johnny Moore, whom he believes could be a threat to her. As Clover investigates the three people connected to Sylvia, the situation takes a deadly turn when Tony Blair, Sylvia's dancing teacher, is found murdered.
