  • Is God’s Law a Burden? The Ark of the Covenant, & How Good It is to Have Jesus as Your King (John 2:19-20)
    Jan 18 2026

In this sermon from John 2:19-20, we see that God’s law is not a burden but a gift given by our good and gracious King, Jesus Christ. When Jesus cleanses the temple and declares, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days,” He reveals Himself as both the true Temple and the rightful King of God’s kingdom. This message shows how it’s good to have Jesus as one’s king, as He not only protects His people, but also gives His people His commands to guide their lives into joy, fruitfulness, and peace. From our present obedience under Christ’s kingship to the future hope of the New Heavens and New Earth, this sermon encourages believers to trust that Jesus’ laws are for our good, now and forever, as He reigns as King of kings over His redeemed people.

  • Jesus and the Ark of the Covenant. How Christ Fulfills the Temple (John 2)
    Jan 11 2026

Why does the Old Testament Temple matter for your life today? Many see the Ark of the Covenant as a relic of the past, but in John 2:13-21, Jesus reveals a startling truth: He is the true Temple and the enthroned King of the Ark.

In this sermon, we dive into Biblical Theology to see how Jesus fulfills every piece of Temple furniture—specifically the Ark of the Covenant, God’s earthly footstool. If you are struggling with temptation or the fear of death, you need to understand the Kingship of Christ. As a Reformed/Presbyterian look at the Gospel of John, we explore how Jesus doesn't just offer forgiveness; He offers the protection and direction of a Sovereign King.

Stop living in the "outer courts" and discover the confidence that comes from having Jesus enthroned over your life.

  • God With Us: How Jesus Fulfills the Old Testament Temple, Part 1: The Most Holy Place
    Jan 4 2026

In this expository sermon from John 2:12–21, we see that Jesus Christ is the true and final Temple, the fulfillment of everything the Old Testament tabernacle and temple foreshadowed. When Jesus cleanses the temple and declares, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it in three days,” He reveals that the dwelling place of God is no longer a building—but His own body.

The Gospel of John assures believers that Christianity is not a new or innovative religion, but the fulfillment of the one true faith revealed in the Old Testament. The same God who dwelt among Israel in the Most Holy Place now dwells with His people through Jesus Christ and, by His Spirit, lives within every believer.

This sermon connects Isaiah 40, the glory of the LORD revealed, and John’s Gospel, showing how Jesus is Immanuel—God with us—past, present, and future. From the temple in Jerusalem, to Christ’s incarnation, to the indwelling Holy Spirit, and finally to the New Creation, God’s promise to dwell with His people is fulfilled in Christ alone.

Be confident and encouraged in your faith. If you trust in Jesus, you have embraced the true religion of the Creator God, and you belong to the people with whom He dwells forever.
