  • Episode 11 My Bow Got Ran Over, Community Repsonds Again
    Oct 30 2026

A Tahoe ran over my Mathews ARC 34. The bow couldn’t be saved—but the archery community wasn’t about to let my bowhunting season end there.

In Episode 11 of the Equalized Outdoors Podcast, I’m sharing what happened, the damage, and how Legacy Archery DFW and people across the outdoor community stepped up to help me get back in the field. From offers to loan bows to messages of encouragement, the response made it hard to stay angry.

This episode gets personal. We’re talking about business setbacks, accepting help, building real relationships, and finding reasons to keep moving when it feels like every step forward comes with another obstacle.

    Also in this episode:

    • Oklahoma deer hunting plans and a new lease opportunity.
    • Our Flagship Bow Series with Legacy Archery DFW, starting with the Darton TriTech 33 V2 and real-world shooting numbers.
    • The true cost of flagship bow ownership beyond the purchase price.
    • Plans for our Centershot Blue outpost at Legacy Archery, bringing veterans and first responders together through faith and archery.
    • Updates from Turkeys for Tomorrow’s North Texas Longbeards chapter.
    • SHOT Show media approval and possible changes to where you’ll hear this podcast next.

The Brief brings an Election Day reminder and a call to pay attention to the local races and decisions affecting our communities and conservation.

On The Soundtrack: “No More Back and Forth” by J Deuce.

  • Ep. 10 I'll Turn Your Other Cheek
    Oct 21 2026

Episode 10 of the Equalized Outdoors Podcast is a catch-up from the field with MrJayCam: public-land hunting, gear that’s earning its keep, and a few things that need to be said about how we treat each other.

In The Brief, we cover the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s response to the Fords Lake fish salvage controversy, Texas public-access developments, and upcoming drawn-hunt application deadlines.

In The Situation Report, I share how my Texas public-land season is going while Virginia plans remain on hold. From heavy winds and ground hunting to scouting fresh sign and camping with my daughter, there’s been plenty to appreciate even without a deer on the ground. We also catch up on Equalized Outdoors apparel, the Hunter Spotlight Series, and plans for the North Texas Longbeards flock of Turkeys for Tomorrow.

Then it’s Gear Talk: Vortex customer service comes through, and I explain how I became a “Sitka bro,” with thoughts on clothing, footwear, and fit after putting the gear to work in changing Texas temperatures.

In Off the Streets, we address online disrespect, gatekeeping, and talking down to people for asking questions. Hunters should have room to learn, and seeing someone who looks or hunts differently isn’t a reason to treat them like they don’t belong.

The Soundtrack closes things out with “Time Today” by Moneybagg Yo.

  • EP 9 Whitetail Roundtable
    Oct 14 2026

This week on Episode 9 of the Equalized Outdoors Podcast, we’re talking whitetails with two hunters from our Hunter Spotlight series: Mike Cruz, The Pinoy Outdoorsman, and Micah Culbreth of George’s Boy Outdoors.

We pull up for a campfire-style conversation about when scouting starts, finding places to hunt, reading terrain, and squeezing in sits around work and family. From New York hardwoods to the North Georgia mountains and Texas public land, we compare approaches, share early-season hunt stories, and talk through what we’re hoping to experience during the rut.

We also get into the part that doesn’t always make it onto social media: missed opportunities, discouragement, and what coming home empty teaches you. Both Mike and Micah started hunting as adults, and their experiences bring a different perspective to learning the woods, finding mentors, and explaining hunting to people who don’t do it.

  • Episode 8 The Problem is What You See
    Sep 25 2026

Episode 8 of the Equalized Outdoors Podcast is another solo run with MrJayCam, covering the latest news, community work, and a problem the outdoor industry can no longer pretend not to see.

In The Brief, we break down changes to the Major League Fishing format, the new live location-sharing feature in the onX Hunt app, and several wildlife and public-land updates—including the approaching comment deadline for the Roadless Rule.

The Situation Report covers the first North Texas Longbeards event, Centershot Blue coming to Texas, the latest from the Equalized Outdoors Newsroom, and upcoming YouTube projects. MrJayCam also discusses volunteering at the State Fair of Texas, returning to Virginia for archery season, and why supporting conservation, veterans, and mental-health initiatives remains central to the work of Equalized Outdoors.

Then, in Off the Streets, it is time to retire the notion that Black people do not hunt—or that Black hunters are newcomers chasing a trend. Representation is not the problem. The problem is what some people see when they look at it.

  • 9/11 25 Years Later The Real Americans
    Sep 11 2026

September 11, 2001, will forever be a day associated with unspeakable tragedy. It was a time of immense loss, and the nation grieved as one.

The country also united in a way we haven't seen since, and it shouldn't take a tragedy to unlock that.

This is my short account of where I was that day, and what I decided to do about it. You see, I realized it's not just a story or an event to me. It's an integral part of my own personal story.

I hope those of you that hear this, heed my words and reflect. If it resonates, I hope that you share it.

    Peace and Love,

    MrJayCam

  • Bonus: American Made With Jerry Grose of Custom Gear Modifications
    Aug 17 2026

In this Bonus episode of the Equalized Outdoors Podcast, Justin "MrJayCam" Campbell sits down with Jerry Grose, founder of Custom Gear Modifications, for a deep dive into saddle hunting, custom gear development, and the philosophy behind one of the most hands-on companies in the mobile hunting space.

Jerry shares how his military background and early hunting experiences shaped his approach to both business and gear design, before walking through the evolution of Custom Gear Modifications from its beginnings to what the company is today.

The conversation gets into the transition to saddle hunting, designing gear around real-world hunting experience, and why comfort is never a one-size-fits-all proposition. Jerry explains CGM's highly personal saddle-buying process, the advantages of keeping production in-house, and why remaining committed to American-made products matters to him.

They also break down climbing methods, tree access, saddle-hunting safety, and some of the considerations hunters should understand before choosing their own setup.

Whether you're already hunting from a saddle, thinking about making the switch, or simply interested in how hunting gear goes from an idea to a finished product, this conversation offers an inside look at the craftsmanship and experience behind Custom Gear Modifications.
