About Dr. Ward: Dr. Bashelia Ward is an education leader, scholar-practitioner, and Texas Regional Manager for SmartStart Education, where she partners with districts to strengthen student outcomes through disciplined leadership, strategy, and care for people.

She earned her doctorate in Organizational Leadership, using a hermeneutical research methodology focused on interpretation, meaning-making, and honoring lived experience. Her scholarship explores how leadership identity is shaped by experience, resilience, mentorship, and context.
