A proposito di questo titolo

The shoreline is safe, but we weren’t created for the harbor. Most of us live our lives in the shallows of faith, places where we feel the sand beneath our feet and stay within the limits of what is comfortable and known. But the shallows are deceptive. They are often the most dangerous place to be, where the weight of life and easy theology can pin us to the bottom, leaving us overwhelmed by waves we were never meant to fight in knee-deep water. The Deep Waters Way is a podcast for believers who sense there is more to the Christian life than just getting by. Hosted by Ray Cooper, the show offers biblical teaching and theological reflection from a Wesleyan-holiness perspective as it explores the intersection of Scripture, theology, and transformation. We’re moving away from surface-level answers toward a process of Christian spiritual formation that enables us to navigate the swells of the open water. This is a place for intellectual honesty and genuine discipleship. We study the biblical text, explore the cultural lens of its writers, touch on the nuances of the original languages, and examine the historic creeds of the Church. We won’t settle for religious clichés; instead, we wrestle with the long, sometimes difficult work of cooperating with God’s grace—because theology that never changes how we actually live is no theology at all. As Moses reminded Israel in Deuteronomy 6, we are to keep God’s words in our hearts and talk of them throughout the ordinary rhythms of daily life—when we sit at home, when we walk along the way, when we lie down, and when we rise. In the same way, every part of our lives—our work, our relationships, our struggles, even our most ordinary days—can become an act of worship when it flows from truth deeply embraced. This podcast does not assume that growth is automatic, nor that struggle is evidence of failure. Instead, it speaks to those navigating doubt, conviction, and renewal. Whether we’re discussing the weight of church history or the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives, the goal remains the same: to help you grow in your relationship with Christ and to recognize that in Christ, there is always something deeper. It’s time to leave the safety of the shallows. Let’s slip the moorings and head for the deep waters.Copyright 2026 Ray Cooper Catechesi ed evangelismo Cristianesimo Spiritualità

Most of us have made peace with the shallows. They feel safe. They feel manageable. But shallow water doesn't protect you; it just makes the waves harder to fight. The Deep Waters Way is a podcast for believers who sense there is more to the Christian life than just getting by and are willing to do the hard work of finding out what that looks like.

Hosted by Ray Cooper, the show explores the intersection of Scripture, theology, and transformation from a Wesleyan-Arminian holiness perspective. We study the biblical text seriously, engage the history of the Church honestly, and hold theology accountable to the one thing it exists to produce: a life that actually looks like Christ.

Struggle isn't evidence of failure. Growth is not automatic. And theology that never changes how we live is no theology at all.
