  • 09-24-2026 PART 3: When God’s Message Matters More Than Our Comfort
    Sep 24 2026

    Section 1

At the center of Paul’s teaching is a priority that should shape both churches and individual Christians: the Gospel comes first. Those serving in the temple received a portion of the offerings, establishing a biblical principle that people devoted to spiritual service may properly receive support from that work. Yet Paul’s greater concern was never simply compensation; it was protecting the message of Christ. Dr. Dave emphasizes that healthy ecclesiology keeps the Gospel at the center of everything because it is God’s power unto salvation. The same principle applies personally. Someone shared the Gospel with us, and somebody else still needs to hear it from us. Whatever legitimate rights, structures, or practices surround ministry, none should become more important than bringing glory to the Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Section 2

Receiving support for ministry can be biblical while still being personally difficult. Scripture plainly teaches that those who devote their lives to preaching the Gospel may receive their living from that ministry. Dr. Dave shares his own experience moving between bivocational work and relying entirely upon ministry support, describing how challenging it can be for someone accustomed to working and producing to simply receive what God provides through others. Sometimes obedience means doing more; other times God may be teaching us to remain where He placed us, receive His provision, and concentrate upon the assignment He has given. Scripture leaves room for both approaches. Paul and Barnabas sometimes worked, while other apostles devoted themselves fully to prayer and the Word. Neither model should become a reason for Christians to condemn someone following a different calling.

    Section 3

Humility becomes unmistakable when Paul explains that although he possessed the right to receive support, he refused to pressure anyone or allow money to cloud the message he was preaching. His commitment remained the same whether people supported him financially or not: proclaim Christ, strengthen believers, and advance God’s kingdom. Dr. Dave identifies deeply with that attitude and presents it as a standard worth pursuing in ministry today. The goal is not perfection but maintaining the proper priority. Ministers may serve full-time, work another vocation, or move between those seasons according to God’s direction. What must never change is the supremacy of the Gospel. Paul was willing to sacrifice legitimate rights and personal convenience rather than give anyone reason to question his motives. God’s message was more important to Paul than Paul’s comfort—and that is what love for God looks like.

  • 10-01-2026 PART 3: When Truth Is Exchanged for a Lie
    Oct 1 2026

    Section 1

With the scheduled interview unable to take place, Dr. Dave continues examining the biblical value of life and returns to Genesis 25, where Rebekah’s unborn children are described as babies and as two peoples within her. His central emphasis remains that God’s perspective—not political labels or cultural arguments—must establish the Christian’s understanding of life. 10012026C That foundation leads unexpectedly into Romans 1, a passage Dr. Dave had encountered during his morning devotional reading before knowing how the show would unfold. Paul describes humanity suppressing truth despite God making His existence and divine nature evident through creation. The problem is therefore deeper than disagreement: people can possess evidence of God while refusing to honor Him, thank Him, or submit to the truth He has revealed.

    Section 2

Romans 1 describes what happens when people continually reject that revelation. Their thinking becomes darkened, they claim wisdom while becoming foolish, and eventually they exchange God’s truth for a lie and worship created things rather than the Creator. 10012026C Dr. Dave connects that principle directly to the broader teaching: once God’s truth is rejected, something else inevitably occupies its place. Yet the same principle becomes extremely practical for every Christian. When Satan introduces a lie—such as telling a struggling believer that failure means God no longer loves or forgives them—the answer is not endless argument. The answer is God’s truth. Scripture declares that confession brings forgiveness and cleansing. Darkness gains strength when truth is suppressed, but lies lose their power when confronted by what God has actually said.

    Section 3

The appropriate Christian response is therefore not hatred, violence, or merely winning arguments, but serious and persistent prayer. Dr. Dave calls believers to pray for people, leaders, and the nation, asking God for repentance, forgiveness, healing, and spiritual renewal. Acts 3:19 connects repentance with seasons of refreshing from the Lord, making repentance something hopeful rather than merely condemning. 10012026C Jesus remains the light of the world, and the church should pray for that light to break into places where darkness has taken hold. That means standing firmly for biblical truth while simultaneously interceding for those who reject it. Christians should take spiritual battles seriously without turning them into physical battles, asking their heavenly Father to bring deliverance and change hearts. When the world exchanges God’s truth for a lie, our calling is to stand in the truth, pray for repentance, and keep pointing people toward the Light.

  • 09-28-2026 PART 3: The Fruit Grows Where God Is
    Sep 28 2026

    Section 1

Faithfulness is often displayed most powerfully through quiet service rather than public recognition. Joyanne shares the story of her brother Eugene, who was honored after fifty years of serving his church in maintenance. Called the “Silent Guardian of the Sanctuary,” Eugene became known not merely for repairing buildings but for approaching problems with prayer, carrying Gospel tracts, helping people in need, and consistently serving without seeking attention. 09282026C Dr. Dave celebrates the congregation’s recognition of Eugene while emphasizing something even greater: God sees decades of service that other people may barely notice. The servant who simply sees what needs to be done and faithfully does it reflects something precious about the kingdom. Earthly recognition may eventually come, but the greater honor belongs to those who serve the Lord without making recognition their goal.

    Section 2

Water coming from a rock sounds impossible—and that is precisely why the story matters. After Joyanne correctly answers the trivia question from Exodus 17, Dr. Dave focuses on the impossibility of what God accomplished. Human reasoning cannot manufacture water from a rock, yet God provided enough to satisfy an entire people. 09282026C Sometimes God permits circumstances in which no ordinary solution seems sufficient because the answer must clearly come from Him. Whatever believers encounter—relationships, finances, health, or circumstances—nothing rises above God’s ability or escapes His attention. He does not need human permission, natural probability, or favorable conditions to accomplish His purposes. The God who provided water where water should not have existed remains greater than anything His children have faced, are facing now, or will ever face.

    Section 3

Love, joy, and peace are not qualities Christians manufacture through determination; they are fruit produced through relationship with God. Dr. Dave describes biblical love as our core, joy as our strength, and peace as our refuge. Joy is found in God’s presence, while His peace provides shelter when the noise surrounding us becomes overwhelming. 09282026C Most importantly, these are the fruit of the Holy Spirit, meaning their source is God Himself. Trying harder in the flesh cannot reproduce what develops naturally through walking closely with Him. The same principle extends to patience and the remaining fruit of the Spirit. If we desire more spiritual fruit, the answer is deeper fellowship with God through Scripture, prayer, service, giving, and time in His presence. If you want to grow stronger in the fruit of the Spirit, don’t concentrate first on producing more fruit—concentrate on spending more time with the One who produces it.

  • 09-29-2026 PART THREE: When You Know the Truth, Stand Your Ground
    Sep 29 2026

    Section 1

Elisha’s request for a double portion from Elijah reveals an important truth about receiving answers from God. Elijah tells him plainly that if he witnesses Elijah being taken away, the request will be granted; otherwise, it will not. Dr. Dave uses that moment to emphasize that God’s answers are not always complicated: sometimes they are yes, sometimes no, and sometimes “hold, please.” 09292026C Elisha then witnesses Elijah taken into heaven by a whirlwind, receives the fallen mantle, returns to the Jordan, and immediately sees God confirm his new assignment when the waters divide. The prophets recognize that Elijah’s ministry has passed to Elisha. God had made the transition unmistakably clear, and Elisha possessed both the truth and the confirmation he needed.

    Section 2

Pressure becomes dangerous when other voices persuade us to question something God has already made clear. The prophets insist that fifty men should search for Elijah, even though Elisha knows exactly what happened and initially tells them not to go. Yet they continue pressing him until Scripture says he becomes too embarrassed to refuse. 09292026C That detail struck Dr. Dave powerfully: even this mighty prophet, already operating under God’s anointing, allowed embarrassment and persistence from others to influence a decision he knew was unnecessary. The search accomplishes nothing, and when the men return, Elisha reminds them that he had told them not to go. Spiritual strength does not make anyone immune to pressure. Even mature believers must remain watchful when persistent voices begin pushing them away from what they know to be true.

    Section 3

The larger lesson reaches directly into everyday Christian living. Elisha had seen Elijah taken away, received the mantle, crossed the Jordan miraculously, and knew what God had done—yet public pressure still moved him temporarily from his position. Dr. Dave warns that persuasion can come from society, friends, family, or even other believers, which makes standing firm especially important. 09292026C Boldness does not require rudeness, but there are moments when Christians must simply say, “This is the truth,” and refuse to move. If we are mistaken, God is capable of correcting us; fear of other people should not become the deciding factor. Rather than condemning ourselves for previous failures, we can ask the Lord for help and do better the next time pressure comes. When God has made the truth clear, don’t let the pressure of people embarrass you out of standing where God told you to stand.

  • 09-30-2026 PART 3: When God Himself Becomes Your Sanctuary
    Sep 30 2026

    Section 1

Isaiah’s command not to fear what others fear leads directly to something even greater: “The Lord of hosts is the one you shall regard as holy.” Dr. Dave explains that fearing God means approaching Him with reverence, honor, and respect while still knowing Him personally as Father. Then comes the remarkable promise—God Himself will be our sanctuary. 09302026C A sanctuary is a place of relief, rest, and peace, but believers do not ultimately find that security in a vacation, resort, or escape from everyday responsibilities. The true sanctuary is the manifested presence of God. It is there that believers experience the fullness of joy and receive a foretaste of what eternity will ultimately bring. The refuge we keep searching for somewhere else is found most completely in Him.

    Section 2

Judgment and difficulty do not mean God has forgotten those who faithfully belong to Him. Isaiah describes serious consequences coming upon Israel, yet in the middle of that warning comes the response of the faithful disciple: “I will wait for the Lord…I will put my trust in Him.” 09302026C That distinction matters. Dr. Dave emphasizes that believers should not allow constant reports of conspiracy, fear, or impending disaster to determine their spiritual condition. God’s disciples are called to understand His testimony, remain grounded in His Word, remember what He has already accomplished, and continue trusting Him. Circumstances around us may become unstable, but our confidence does not have to become unstable with them. The faithful response is not panic—it is waiting upon God while trusting that He remains completely aware and completely in control.

    Section 3

The constant stream of news, social media, rumors, and frightening predictions can easily begin shaping a believer’s thinking. Isaiah offers another way: do not call everything a conspiracy, do not fear what others fear, and make God your sanctuary. Dr. Dave stresses that God has never abdicated His throne or surrendered control of human affairs. 09302026C The King of the universe remains King regardless of what appears chaotic on earth. Christians therefore do not need to live underneath the shadow of every alarming headline or prediction. Our lives should be shaped by the Lord Almighty rather than by voices continually generating fear. Jesus remains the light of the world, and His disciples are called to walk in that light, waiting upon Him and trusting Him. When everything around you is trying to become your source of fear, make God your sanctuary and remember that He has never stopped reigning.

  • 10-02-2026 PART 3: When God Gives You a Reason to Rejoice
    Oct 2 2026

    Section 1

Sometimes God reinforces the same truth from several directions until it becomes impossible to miss. After the earlier conversations about God’s faithfulness and protection, Dr. Dave turns to a devotional that had been selected before either phone call: “The Battle Belongs to the Lord,” from 2 Chronicles 32:8. Hezekiah faced overwhelming opposition, yet his confidence was not in numbers, strategy, strength, or connections—it was in the presence of God. 10022026C That becomes the believer’s perspective whenever circumstances appear larger than our ability to handle them. We can become consumed with the size of the opposition while forgetting the greatness of the One surrounding us. The battle does not ultimately depend upon our strength. God remains present, faithful, and completely capable of fighting battles that are far beyond us.

    Section 2

ROSLYN’s call provides a beautiful example of turning answered prayer into praise. After her cousin Dolores underwent surgery, the pathology report confirmed there was no cancer, sparing her from additional cancer treatment. Dr. Dave celebrates the report as a specific answer to the prayers offered by ROSLYN, churches, listeners, and others who had been standing together in faith. 10022026C Scripture tells believers not only to weep together but also to rejoice together, and this was clearly a moment for rejoicing. The answer became more than good news for one family; it became a testimony that could strengthen other people who are still waiting for their own answers. Dr. Dave then turns that celebration directly toward God through prayer, thanking Him for His kindness and asking Him to continue using ROSLYN to encourage others to believe, pray, and watch for His work.

    Section 3

Faith also reveals itself when obedience requires standing alone. Esther 3 describes an enormous crowd obeying the king’s command to bow before Haman while Mordecai alone refuses. 10022026C Dr. Dave connects Mordecai with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: none needed to become obnoxious or combative; they simply determined that their first allegiance belonged to God. Genuine faith does not measure truth by how many people agree with it. Sometimes hundreds or thousands may bow while one person remains standing. The believer’s responsibility is not to manufacture confrontation but to refuse surrender when obedience to people would require disobedience to God. Loving the Lord with heart, soul, strength, and mind means placing Him above every competing demand. Faith in action is sometimes remarkably simple: when everybody else bows, you quietly remain standing because God comes first.
