  • How Riverstar Built the First RiverClan
    Sep 29 2026

Today we talk about Riverstar’s Home, the sixteenth Super Edition in Erin Hunter’s Warrior Cats series, revealing the origin story of RiverClan’s peaceful yet resilient founding leader.

Long before he earned his leader name, he was Ripple - a tranquil, philosophical cat who was swept away from the cats of the park by the river. As the early forest cats struggled to mark territories and defend their borders in the wake of the Dawn of the Clans era, River Ripple sought a different way to survive, building a community centered around harmony, resourcefulness, and the soothing flow of the water.

In this episode, we explore how Riverstar’s unique perspective shaped RiverClan’s core identity - from mastering the river currents and weaving reed dens to establishing a culture grounded in patience rather than needless bloodshed. We’ll dive into his past ties, the looming threats from rogue groups that tested his peaceful ideals, and how a reluctant loner ultimately embraced his destiny to lead his Clan through the turbulent early days of StarClan's guidance.

Keep your whiskers dry and watch the current - we’re stepping back into the ancient history of the forest Clans.

  • Secrets of the Kola Superdeep Borehole
    Sep 22 2026

Today we talk about the Kola Superdeep Borehole, a 7.6-mile vertical shaft plunged into the Earth's crust that remains the deepest artificial point on our planet.

Drilling began in 1970 on Russia's icy Kola Peninsula as Soviet scientists set out to pierce through the Earth's continental crust toward the mantle. Over nearly two decades of grueling engineering, the main borehole reached an astonishing depth of 12,262 meters (40,230 feet)—deeper than the Mariana Trench. But as the drill bit ground deeper into the ancient granite, the subterranean world proved far stranger and hotter than anyone anticipated.

In this episode, we’re digging into the groundbreaking scientific discoveries and extreme physical barriers that finally brought the drill to a halt. We explore how researchers uncovered 2-billion-year-old microscopic plankton fossils miles underground, found hot mineralized water trapped where solid rock was supposed to be, and encountered temperatures soaring to 356°F (180°C) - causing the deep stone to behave like soft plastic that squeezed back into the hole.

Watch your footing and check your heat shielding - we’re descending seven miles straight down into the crust of the Earth.

  • Life in the Hadean Pressure Cooker
    Sep 12 2026

Today we talk about the Hadean eon, the fiery, hellish dawn of Earth's history when our planet was a chaotic crucible of molten rock and relentless cosmic bombardment.

Spanning from the formation of the solar system roughly 4.6 billion years ago to 4.0 billion years ago, this eon - named after Hades, the Greek god of the underworld - was a time before stable continents, before an oxygenated atmosphere, and long before life took root. In this episode, we are traveling back to a nightmare world where Earth's surface was a churning sea of glowing magma, continuously reshaped by intense volcanism and swept by the scorching radiation of a young Sun.

We’re dissecting the cataclysmic events that forged our home world, including the colossal collision with a Mars-sized protoplanet named Theia - an impact so violent it re-melted Earth's outer layers and blasted vast amounts of debris into orbit, which rapidly coalesced to form our Moon. We’ll explore how the planet gradually cooled over hundreds of millions of years, allowing the first solid crustal rocks to freeze out of the magma, torrential steam clouds to condense into primordial oceans, and the raw chemical ingredients of life to take shape under a thick, toxic sky.

Calibrate your heat shields and brace for impact - we’re stepping directly into the primordial inferno of Earth's origin story.

  • How September 11 Reshaped the World
    Sep 12 2026

Today we talk about the September 11 attacks, the pivotal day in modern history that reshaped global geopolitics, aviation security, and the American landscape forever.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, nineteen militants associated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial airliners in a coordinated terrorist strike against the United States. Two planes struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, a third crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and a fourth crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers fought back to prevent it from reaching its target. Claiming 2,977 innocent lives, it remains the deadliest single act of terrorism in human history.

In this episode, we trace the timeline of that fateful morning minute by minute - from the early-morning takeoffs along the East Coast to the frantic NORAD communications, the collapse of the towers, and the immense heroism of first responders rushing into burning buildings. We’ll also examine the far-reaching aftermath: the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, the total overhaul of airport protocols worldwide, the findings of the 9/11 Commission Report, and the decade-long manhunt that followed.

Pause for a moment of reflection - we’re honoring the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and a world forever altered.
