At Biltmore Church in western North Carolina, an annual outdoor baptism service at a local lake became a record-setting day of celebration as 458 people publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ.

What happens when two people from very different backgrounds say “I DO—but soon discover they DON'T see marriage the same way?

George and Tondra Gregory know the answer firsthand.

They’ve been married for 31 years, but the early years of their marriage were rocky. George was raised in a two-parent home, while Tondra was raised by a single mother. Those very different experiences shaped the way they thought about communication, conflict, expectations and marriage—and created obstacles they had to learn to overcome.
