Juniper Gray discovers Pinecone Hollow’s clocktower is tracking a missing Christmas Comet, and she, her dad, and her friend Ollie are led to an inventor’s abandoned workshop where they meet Comet-Unit Seven, a talking clockwork reindeer. They find Mr. Vellum injured near the sky’s “Gloom Knot” and learn the comet is trapped, so Juniper uses a heartfelt, giving wish to loosen the knot while the others power the Star Engine with a key to pull the comet back onto its path. The comet returns, the sky and town brighten, Mr. Vellum comes home, and Christmas feels warm and whole again—ending with “Merry Christmas.”
