André Lima, board president of Movement Arts Cape Cod (MACC), joins me to talk about the local nonprofit and its mission of “healing through movement.” MACC brings dance and movement programs into communities across the Cape, with a focus on people who are at-risk or underserved, and supports local movement artists along the way. We get into how MACC got started, what it’s working on now, a little bit of André’s Capoeira, and the Masquerade Gala on Saturday, October 24th, 6–8 PM at Hyannis Arts Hall. The night includes live music from Outermost Batería, tap, dance fitness and Capoeira performances, a costume contest, and the launch of MACC’s new logo and merch.

Thank you André for joining me and for all the work MACC does to get our community moving!

Back with Michael Jones in a series of live discussions about his new book titled "What Art Is Now: Creativity in the Age of AI". This episode covers 3 different live public events, which will be heard in reverse order: the Snow Library discussion on 5/26/26, the Tap Room talk 5/7/26 and the Orleans Citizens Forum interview 6/25/25. Come along to hear all about AI, Michael's perspectives and get a sneak peek of what is in his great new book!

Also, if interested, you can watch the video on the Cape and Islands Patreon page at no cost! If interested, please do consider subscribing to the Patreon, I will be building it out further in future months with more content and goodies.

Note: During the Snow Library live session, some of the audience questions had to be removed from the audio and video because of room feedback issues, my apologies but your ears will thank me! As with all live events, audio quality is variable, but I did my best to get these to flow into one coherent podcast, as well as video.

Thank you Michael for taking me along with you on this AI journey, it was a real pleasure!

Emma returned to Cape Cod as a caregiver and decided to stay to build up the youth community through After Hours [AH] her brand new organization. This community organization for young adults is built around the idea that people should grow together, not alone. In this episode of the Cape and Islands Podcast we sit down at the Old Colony Tap in Provincetown to hear her story.

What a fantastic foundation she is building for current and future generations of young adults. You can find out more about After Hours [AH] on Instagram by searching @afterhours_ah or you could email info@afterhours-ah.com and checking out her website afterhours-ah.com

To the audience, as you have surely noticed I am approaching the podcast in new ways in 2026, taking a bit more risk and doing the interviews on site and making companion videos. So thank you so much for bearing with me on the audio quality as on-site interviews are much more difficult to control!
