This week, The Boys at the Big Bald Book Club discuss a much debated and oft banned staple of American Modern Literature, 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. Why is it good? does it deserve the ban? and most importantly, is it still a good read in 2026? Under The Hawthorn Tree: Martin Corrigan brings to this week's BBBC a harrowing piece of Irish children's literature he last read during his school days. A less cheery episode than previous as the gang (you can have a gang of two) discuss colonial atrocities, famines, forced migrations and the legacies of imperialism. What a reveal, ey: these aren't the type of balds you find painting roundabouts. These Balds go deep…into Literature.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?: this novel - the inspiration for the classic film Blade Runner and its less-classic sequel - makes it very clear on page one that no one dreams of electric sheep. But what do Martin Corrigan and Scott Manley Hadley dream of? We don't know, they don't discuss that here. We are LAFS (The London Arts Facilitation Society).
