Happy Friday, Club Members! 📹 Yellow wallpaper, buzzing fluorescent lights, and endless mono-yellow rooms: this week, we’re stepping through the floorboards into The Backrooms (2026)!

Born from a viral 4chan thread, expanded into Kane Parsons' legendary YouTube series, and brought to the big screen by A24, this liminal nightmare evolved into a massive cultural phenomenon. But beneath the creepy analog aesthetic lies a heavy exploration of hubris, fragile egos, the human subconscious, and toxic masculinity. Join us as we break down why this internet lore hits so unnervingly close to home and why one person in particular came out of this movie hating it.

In this episode, we break down:

• Psychology of the Backrooms: Why the Backrooms represent our deepest, darkest thoughts and feelings

• Character Breakdown: The dangers of hubris and Clark’s ultimate villain origin story

• Unfiltered Takes: The best Letterboxd reviews and our final verdict
