• 59 | When You Can't Feel God (Psalm 63)
    Feb 1 2026

There are seasons when you’re still showing up.

    Still praying.
    Still opening the Bible.
    Still trying to worship.

    And yet… heaven feels quiet.

Prayer feels like your words hit the ceiling and fall back down.
Scripture feels like ink on paper.
Worship feels like singing into an empty room.

And the question you don’t want to say out loud keeps following you:
    Did God leave me?

If that’s where you are, you’re not alone.

Psalm 63 was written by someone who knew God and then lost the feeling of God.

David is in the wilderness: dry, exhausted, cut off, and afraid.
Not just physically thirsty, but spiritually parched.

And instead of pretending to be strong or forcing emotion, David shows us how faith survives when feelings disappear.

In this episode of Sunday Renewal, we step into the wilderness with David and discover what can hold us when everything familiar is stripped away.

    In This Episode:

We explore how sustaining devotion to God is formed, not in comfort, but in silence and loss:

✅ Why not feeling God does not mean you’ve lost your faith
✅ How the wilderness reveals what we truly treasure
✅ Why faith must be anchored in what is true, not what is felt
✅ Why spiritual thirst is not failure, but evidence that faith is still alive
✅ How memory becomes fuel when the present feels dark

    David doesn’t begin with answers.
    He begins with a claim.

    “You are my God.”

Before he states his need, he stakes his relationship.
Before relief comes, he clings to what he knows.

And in doing so, he shows us how faith can survive even when God feels far away.

This episode is for anyone who has ever whispered, “I still believe… but I can’t feel God anymore.”

  • 58 | Jesus: A Life Like No Other with Hiram Kemp
    Jan 25 2026

You can’t study history without running into Jesus.

Whether you want Him there or not,
He stands at the center of it all.

    Every calendar date.

Every serious conversation about meaning, truth, and hope.

Jesus of Nazareth refuses to be ignored.

In this special episode of Sunday Renewal, guest speaker Hiram Kemp walks us through why Jesus truly lived a life like no other and why understanding His life is not optional if we want to understand our own.

From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture points to Him.

And when He finally arrives, He doesn’t just meet expectations.

    He exceeds them.

    In This Episode:

We explore the unmatched life of Jesus through seven defining realities:

His unique birth: God stepping into human history, fulfilling ancient promises
His perfect obedience: a sinless life lived on our behalf
His unparalleled teaching: authority that reached the heart, not just the mind
His ministry of compassion and power: healing, restoring, and confronting evil
His sacrificial death: the innocent One dying in our place
His triumphant resurrection: victory over death, never to die again
His eternal reign: not someday, but right now

    Jesus didn’t just teach truth.
    He embodied it.
    He didn’t just model obedience.
    He accomplished it...for us.

This episode reminds us of something essential: Being amazed by Jesus is not enough.

We are invited to trust Him, submit to Him, and build our lives around Him.

Because the One who lived a life like no other calls us to live a life shaped by His.

  • 57 | If You Lost Everything Tomorrow, Would Jesus Be Enough?
    Jan 18 2026

What if the real test of your faith isn’t what you gain, but what you’re willing to lose?

We rarely say it out loud.
But we all have something our soul has secretly crowned as essential.

“If I still have this, I’m okay.
But if I lose that, I don’t know who I am.”

Jesus steps into that fragile space and offers something better.
    Not just comfort.
    Not just strength.
    Himself.

In Luke 10:42, Jesus tells Martha:
“Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

    The kitchen was urgent.
    The meal was good.
But Mary chose the one thing that lasts.
She chose Jesus as her portion.

And when your portion can’t be taken, your peace can’t be stolen.

    In This Episode:

✅ What Jesus means when He says “only one thing is necessary”
✅ How to recognize the subtle ways we let fragile things become foundational
✅ What it means to live from a portion that loss, disappointment, or death can’t reach
✅ How to build a faith that not only dwells in you, but outlives you
✅ What to do when you're already in a season of loss, and Jesus is all you have left

    If You're Wondering:

✔️ “How do I actually choose Jesus as my portion?”
✔️ “What do I do if I’ve drifted away from His feet?”
✔️ “What if I’ve never obeyed the gospel at all?”

This episode walks you through both paths—clearly, biblically, and graciously.

Because whether you're returning or coming for the first time,
    Jesus is still offering Himself.
    And He is still enough.

  • 56 | The Necessary Thing: Choosing the Good Portion (Part II)
    Jan 11 2026

What if your exhaustion isn’t from doing too much…but from doing too much without listening?

Many of us love Jesus deeply.
    We serve faithfully.
    We show up consistently.

But somewhere along the way, our devotion turns into frustration, and our service starts sounding like a complaint: “Lord, don’t You care that I’m doing this alone?”

In Luke 10:38–42, Martha is still serving.

    Mary is still sitting.

And Jesus is still inviting us to examine what’s happening beneath our busyness.

    Martha isn’t rebuked for serving.

She’s corrected for being distracted, anxious, and inwardly resentful.

Because when service replaces listening, even good work becomes heavy.

Jesus says: “You are anxious and troubled about many things, but only one thing is necessary.” — Luke 10:41–42

    In This Episode:
✅ Why busyness can quietly shift from devotion to distraction
✅ How serving Jesus without listening to Him leads to resentment and burnout
✅ The subtle danger of asking God to listen to us instead of speaking to us
✅ Why sitting at Jesus’ feet must come before serving with our hands
✅ How to return to the joy of service by restoring the right order

  • 55 | The Necessary Thing: Choosing the Good Portion (Part I)
    Jan 4 2026

What if the problem isn't that you're not doing enough for God—but that you've been doing so much for Him, you've forgotten how to be with Him?

Most of us started this year the same way we ended the last one: running, serving, grinding, telling ourselves, "I'm doing this for God," while quietly wondering, Does He even see me?

In Luke 10:38–42, we meet two sisters: Martha, who welcomed Jesus into her home but spent the whole time frustrated in the kitchen, and Mary, who sat at His feet and listened to His Word.

One was busy for Jesus. The other was present with Jesus.

    And Jesus said:

"You are anxious and troubled about many things, but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."
    — Luke 10:41–42

    In This Episode:

✅ Why spiritual renewal begins when we choose Jesus' presence and Word over the pressure to perform
✅ The difference between welcoming Jesus into your house and actually sitting at His feet
✅ How serving Jesus can become so distracting that you miss Jesus Himself
✅ The sobering truth: You can have Jesus in your house and still ignore His voice in your heart

    Key Quote:

🔥 "Before you work for Him, sit with Him. Before you run for Him, listen to Him. Before you serve the world, let Jesus serve you His Word."

    This Week's Challenge:

Pick one room. One chair. One time.
    No phone. No distractions.

Just you, an open Bible, and this prayer:

"Lord, You are in my house. I'm here at Your feet. Speak, and I will listen."

  • 54 | When God Sleeps Through Your Storm
    Nov 30 2025

What do you do when the God you know can calm the storm…seems to sleep through it instead?

In Matthew 8, the disciples are in a life-threatening storm, waves breaking over the boat, seasoned fishermen convinced, “This is how we die.”

And right in the middle of that chaos, Scripture says: “But He was asleep.”

In this episode, we climb into that boat with them and sit in the tension of crashing waves and a sleeping Savior.

We explore why obedience sometimes leads you into storms, why God’s silence is not His absence, and how Jesus often calms the storm inside us before He ever touches the one around us.

If you’ve ever prayed, “Lord, I know You can do something…so why aren’t You?” — this one is for you.

If you’re drowning in anxiety, bills, grief, or quiet fear — and God feels unusually silent — this episode will help you move from panic to trust as you remember who is with you in the boat.

  • 53 | Don't Let the World Squeeze You Into Its Mold
    Nov 23 2025

    Worldliness isn’t loud.

It doesn’t knock on the door.

It slowly seeps in—into our thinking, our priorities, our homes, and even our worship.

In this powerful message, Ernest exposes one of the greatest threats to spiritual maturity today: the subtle erosion of holiness through conformity to the world.

Too many believers are trying to follow Jesus while holding on to the world’s values, opinions, and moral frameworks, and it’s leaving them frustrated, inconsistent, and spiritually exhausted.

But God has a better way.

Drawing from Romans 12:1–2 and 1 John 2:15–17, this sermon reveals what it truly means to present your body as a living sacrifice, how to resist the pressure to be shaped by the age, and how the Spirit renews you from the inside out through the Word of God.

    This isn’t behavior modification.

    This is transformation.
