Have you ever sat in a room full of people who love you and still felt completely alone?
Over Labor Day weekend, sitting around a table with family in New Hampshire, I mentioned the childhood injury that left me legally blind in my left eye—and realized they never knew. That moment led to a harder question: what else don't they know?
In this episode, I talk about suffering in silence—how a kid learns to stuff things down, say "I'm fine," and survive without letting anyone see it, and how those habits followed me into addiction, marriage, and even recovery. Then I take it to the golf course with the story of a missed tap-in, a golfer carrying two scorecards to the next tee, and the freedom he found when he finally wrote down the bogey.
Honesty doesn't mean telling everyone everything. Sometimes it just means letting the outside finally match the inside—and not keeping the door locked anymore.
Because no matter where life has taken you, you're Never Out of Bounds.
