  • Discovery in Great Sand Dunes National Park by Aaron Johnson
    Dec 5 2025

The scavenger hunt continues in book two of the bestselling National Park Mystery Series.

After camping in Rocky Mountain National Park, Jake and his friends travel to the Great Sand Dunes in southern Colorado. Exploring the heart of the dunes, they stumble upon something both unexpected and dangerous. Through more twists and turns, Jake’s friendships and integrity are tested by choices that will demand smarts and courage.

Illustrated by the author, this page-turning adventure is designed to capture the imagination of even the most reluctant of young readers. Parents looking for a delightful read-aloud adventure will find it hard to put down. (Word of Caution: readers frequently note that this is a “Please read just one more chapter” book).

If your family loves the enchanted lands of our national parks, this series will take you to hidden places and into breathtaking landscapes. If you enjoy movies like National Treasure and Uncharted or mystery adventures like the Hardy Boys and Gary Paulsen’s survival story, Hatchet, you’ll love this first installment of the National Park Mystery Series.

Aaron Johnson grew up on a farm in Ohio where he'd jump the fence to hike into the swamps, gullies, ravines, and gorges in a place they called The Deep Fields. He wrote his first book in second grade, and continued to write as a teenager.

Then he became a high school and middle school teacher, and went on to work for twenty years in education. He's so grateful to bring his many passions together in this new life-chapter as an author: the outdoors, writing, the national parks, illustration, and his interest in fields of history, conservation, and the natural sciences. And he gets to squeeze my terrible dad- jokes into my stories.

Their family lives in Colorado where Aaron spent over six months exploring and leading backpacking trips into Rocky Mountain National Park. That's why the adventure begins in RMNP, in the heart of a place that he thinks of as home.

Aaron hopes your family not only enjoys these stories, but also develops a deeper affection for our national parks and the other wild places near you.

  • Teddy's Button by Dr. Mark Hamby and Lamplighter
    Nov 28 2025

"There were guns blazing, shells flying, and swords flashing and hacking away!" Teddy recounts the bravery of his father’s heroic deed. But the rivalry between a soldier’s son and a sailor’s daughter drives Teddy to his breaking point until he learns of a new battle, a new enemy, and a new Captain, whose orders are to fight all battles with the banner of love!

PARENTS, Teddy’s Button is a story that will open a child's understanding of the spiritual battle within as Teddy learns that he is his own worst enemy!

As the stubborn boy and girl refuse to back down from their selfish pride, one of the many lessons they learn is that they cannot win battles by force and hate, but by carrying the banner of love.

Through this charming story, Amy LeFeuvre helps children to understand the spiritual battle that rages in their souls, and that parents and children are on the same side!

Dr. Mark Hamby has done a fantastic job with this retelling – and the illustrations by his WIFE Jennifer Hamby are beautiful!

For over 30 years Dr. Mark Hamby has been bringing redemptive hope to people who are willing to take off the mask and open their hearts to the life-changing power of the Word of God.

Mark is the founder and president of Lamplighter Ministries, whose mission is to make ready a people prepared for the Lord by building Christlike character one story at a time. Over the past 30 years, Mark has led Lamplighter to publish over 250 riveting stories from the 17th to 19th century, produced over 30 world-class audio dramas heard by millions across 34 countries, and more.

Lamplighter stories are much more than good and wholesome reading. The character traits children assimilate during their formative years are the foundation from which a life of faith in God is built. Inspiring role models found in Lamplighter books demonstrate that outward compliance alone will not carry a child through the stresses and disappointments soon to be faced in adolescence and adulthood.
