A Podcast by the Youth Guild of St. José Sánchez del Río

Welcome to Stories from the Guild, a podcast produced by the Youth Guild of St. José Sánchez del Río—an outreach of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The Youth Guild joyfully welcomes all young people, from toddlers to teenagers, ages 2 to 17, to enroll free of charge and grow together in faith, virtue, and love of Our Lord and Our Lady.

Each month on Stories from the Guild, we gather as one guild family to reflect, pray, and journey deeper into the heart of Christ through our journal Full of Grace. With simple reflections, guided prayers, and the voices of our youth, every episode invites you to slow down and enter into a moment of grace.

  • October 2026: Our Lady of Champion
    Oct 1 2026

October brings two feasts of Our Lady, and this episode spends time with both: Our Lady of Champion, the only approved Marian apparition in the United States, and Our Lady of the Pillar, who appeared to Saint James on the bank of the Ebro River in Zaragoza. The Holy Youth of the Month is Blessed Chiara Badano, an Italian teenager who met a painful cancer with the words, "It is for you, Jesus." Young listeners also write in to ask why God made sharks.

Through thoughtful questions and shared reflection, this episode invites youth into deeper engagement with their faith—both personally and as part of a growing community.

  • September 2026: Our Lady, Undoer of Knots
    Sep 11 2026

This September episode reflects on two Marian titles celebrated this month, Our Lady, Undoer of Knots and Madonna, Divine Shepherdess. We draw on scripture, saints' writings, and the Catechism to explore Mary's role as intercessor.

It also introduces this month's Holy Youth of the Month, Servant of God Anna Zelikova, and answers listener questions about why lay Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute Communion and how priests find ways to celebrate Mass under persecution. The episode closes with family discussion questions and a look at this month's submitted youth artwork.

Through thoughtful questions and shared reflection, this episode invites youth into deeper engagement with their faith—both personally and as part of a growing community.

  • August 2026: Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth
    Aug 14 2026

August is a month crowded with Marian celebration, and this episode follows the thread from the miraculous snowfall that fell over Rome on August 5 in the year 352, marking the ground where the Basilica of Saint Mary Major would rise, to the Queenship of Mary honored on August 22.

Listeners meet Blessed Teresa Bracco, an Italian farmer's daughter who took as her motto the words of Saint Dominic Savio, better to die than to sin, and who was martyred while defending herself during the Second World War.

Scripture from First Kings, the Psalms, and Esther is set alongside commentary from Saint Maximus the Confessor, Saint Alphonsus Liguori, Saint Albert the Great, and the Second Vatican Council to show what the Church means when she calls Mary Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Through thoughtful questions and shared reflection, this episode invites youth into deeper engagement with their faith—both personally and as part of a growing community.
