Gratitude sounds great in theory… until you're having a terrible week and someone tells you to "just focus on the positive."
No thanks.
In this episode of 15-Minute State Shift, we're talking about gratitude in a way that actually feels real.
Not toxic positivity. Not pretending everything is fine. Not writing "I'm grateful for my family, my health, and my home" on autopilot while feeling absolutely nothing.
We're getting into why gratitude can be especially powerful during hard seasons, how our brains naturally latch onto what went wrong, and why the good moments often disappear from memory if we don't slow down long enough to notice them.
The shift is simple: get specific.
Instead of "I'm grateful for my family," maybe it's, "I'm grateful Kyle made me laugh when I was taking everything way too seriously."
Instead of "I'm grateful for my work," maybe it's one conversation, one win, or one tiny moment that reminded you why you care.
Because gratitude is not about convincing yourself life is perfect. It's about reminding yourself that the hard thing is not the only thing happening.
You can be stressed and grateful.
You can be disappointed and grateful.
You can be in a messy season and still notice something good.
Both can be true.
This week's State Shift is a simple 7-day gratitude practice that helps you capture three specific moments each night and actually remember why they mattered.
Your State Shift this week: stop trying to feel grateful for everything. Start noticing the few things that were actually worth remembering.
