Cornered in the basement of the Church of St. George, the coterie is forced to split as hunters argue above. Some escape through a hidden tunnel concealed behind a bookcase, while Enili, Mistress Lux, and David remain behind, stalking the shadows to ambush a lone hunter. He wields a massive longsword radiating blue white light, a weapon that presses down on the Kindred with the weight of their unholiness.

The confrontation spirals out of control. Both Mistress Lux and David lose themselves to the Beast, each falling into frenzy and earning a stain. Against all reason, David insists on bringing the nearly dead hunter with them after Mistress Lux stabilizes him using her vitae.

Lost for hours in the tunnels beneath the city, the coterie faces mounting danger before finally breaking through a bricked up passage into the sewers near Cathedral Row. Only then do they realize the cost of their escape. The bricks were part of a ward, and it has now been destroyed.

Back at the Glass Quarters lab, tensions explode. The coterie is reprimanded for dragging a hunter into the Prince’s domain, and the Sheriff resolves the problem decisively by snapping the hunter’s neck and removing the body.

As the night draws on and the investigation continues, every Kindred phone in the city lights up with the same chilling alert.

Someone is watching.
