Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Indiana Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd. Indiana's split right down the middle today. Up north, you're waking up to lake-effect snow still flying sideways. Down south? Sunshine and temps nearly 18 degrees warmer. Let's get into it. **Northern Indiana**, you're under a Winter Weather Advisory until 1 P.M. Lake-effect bands are dropping another 1 to 3 inches — locally 4 near the lake — with gusts to 35 miles an hour whipping it into drifts. Highs barely touch 28 degrees. But here's the kicker: wind chills at 8 A.M. Feel like 18 degrees. That's the kind of cold that sneaks through your coat. Snow tapers off by evening, but roads stay slick through the morning drive. **Central Indiana**, you stay dry but cloudy. Highs near 30 degrees. Northwest winds gust to 25 miles an hour, keeping wind chills in the teens. Tonight, skies crack open slightly and lows drop to 20 degrees. **Northeast Indiana** sees partly sunny skies but brisk winds — gusts to 30 miles an hour. Highs hit 30 degrees, then plummet to 18 degrees overnight. **Southwest Indiana**, you're the winner today. Mostly sunny skies push highs to 34 degrees — nearly 18 degrees warmer than Indy. Light winds and clear skies tonight let lows fall to 20 degrees. Here's your week ahead. Tuesday warms fast — upper 30s and low 40s statewide. Wednesday night into Thursday, a storm brings rain and snow. Northern counties could see an inch of snow while the south stays all rain. The weekend's a rollercoaster. Saturday soars into the 50s, even low 60s southwest. Sunday? Reality check. Rain and snow chances return with highs crashing back to the 30s and 40s. If you're driving north today, watch for those lingering lake-effect bands through this afternoon. And everywhere — layer up.
