Pain has a way of convincing you that you’ve been disqualified, but I’m here to say the opposite. After a few weeks away from the mic, I come back to the story that sparked this podcast and I start walking through my book, Positioned for Purpose: The Journey, beginning with Chapter One, “Alabaster Box.” If you’ve been carrying shame, regret, or a hard season you can’t stop replaying, this conversation is for you.

I read the introduction and pull on the thread of Romans 8:28, exploring what it really means when we say God can work all things together for good. I talk candidly about why I avoided sharing this story for so long, then I move into the moments that shaped me: growing up in Jamaica, longing for affection, adjusting to new schools, and learning how much easier the journey feels when someone is walking with you.

From there, “Alabaster Box” turns personal fast. I share how bullying and insecurity crushed my self-image, how the search for validation led to painful choices, and how becoming a teenage mom interrupted my college dreams and forced me to grow up overnight. I also share what redemption looked like over time: letting go of regret, refusing to be defined by the past, surrounding yourself with people who add value, and choosing praise in the middle of the storm because it can lighten the load.
