Pastor Jeremy Haynes preaches out of 1 Peter 1:6-9, showing that every trial is a crossroad in the wilderness where believers will either be refined by God or put God on trial. He calls the church to rejoice in the secure inheritance, salvation, and new birth they have in Christ, trusting that even grief and testing are being used by the Father to prepare His people for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Jon Meenk preaches out of 1 Peter 1:10-12, showing that the salvation believers now possess is so great that the prophets searched for it, the Spirit testified to it, the gospel announces it, and angels long to look into it. He reminds suffering Christians that their pain must be seen in light of this magnificent salvation, which was planned by God, fulfilled in Christ’s suffering and glory, and placed before us visibly at the Lord’s Table.

Pastor Jon Noyes preaches from 1 Peter 1:13, showing that after twelve verses of grace, Peter’s first command is not to work harder but to fix our hope completely on the grace that will be brought to us when Christ is revealed. He calls the church to stay spiritually awake, clear-minded, and ready as exiles in this world, looking back to the cross, forward to Christ’s return, and living now as people whose visible hope points others to Jesus.
