    Peter Bowes has worked for the BBC since 1988 as a reporter and news presenter and is currently the BBC’s North America Correspondent, covering the United States from Los Angeles and Washington DC.Alongside his journalism, Peter has a long-standing interest in the rapidly expanding field of longevity research. His Live Long podcast features interviews with leading scientists and remarkable individuals who appear to have mastered the art of healthy ageing.


    Peter’s career began with a background in biology and brain health research, followed by broadcast journalism training and early roles across UK commercial radio, including reading the news for Steve Wright on BBC Radio 1. He has covered major global events, interviewed world leaders and cultural icons, and reported on some of the most defining stories of the past four decades — from political upheaval to landmark moments in popular culture.

    Peter is a presenter on the Talk and TV network on Thursdays and Fridays from 4pm to 7pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 1pm.He also covers politics for the station from Westminster. He was a special adviser to four Cabinet ministers between 2016 and2020. He also sometimes presents programmes on Times Radio, usually Times Radio Weekend Breakfast. Peter also comments on politics on a variety of national and international broadcast outlets including the BBC, ITV, NPR, Sky News and RTÉ.
