Nina shares how her path with clay began during a difficult period in her life, ultimately leading her to pursue art with a focus on healing, resilience, and spiritual transformation. Nina shares how creativity became a lifeline and a form of devotion. Clay and natural materials became tools for listening inward, trusting intuition, and grounding higher realms into physical form.

Together, we discuss jewelry as conduits for healing, intuitive collaboration with materials, and the importance of art as spiritual support during times of collective intensity.

Nina Kawar is a sculptor and jeweler who is intrigued by the human condition, healing, and consciousness. Inspired by nature and its elements, each piece in her collections speaks to the ebb and flow in embodying her creative energy and life’s cycles. Her fine art sculptures explore her curiosity for patterns, perspectives, and evolution; while her copper electroformed jewelry are healing tools created to assist others on their journey.

Her work is grounded in an interdisciplinary exploration of psychology, biology, and metaphysics. She began her artistic journey in San Diego and earned a BFA from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. She later discovered her passion for porcelain at Clemson University, where she received a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics.

She currently shares her work through her business, Pure Ritual, based in Asheville, North Carolina. After the recent loss of her ceramic studio in Hurricane Helene, she is navigating the next phase of rebuilding her sculptural practice. Her ever-evolving work reflects a personal journey of transformation and the ongoing process of coming home.
