A proposito di questo titolo
“If you’re disappointed by your elected officials, grab a clipboard, get some signatures, and run for office yourself.”
- Barack Obama 2017 Farewell Address
Will Haskell, 21 at the time, decided to do just that. He had just graduated college and instead of getting a traditional job, decided to run for state senator.
He was sick and tired of an uncontested campaign and the changes that were attempted to be made, so he decided to begin his campaign as a 21 year old in his last semester, spring Senior Year at Georgetown. His roommate became his campaign manager, his girlfriend's mom, his treasurer. With no professional experience, Will Haskell truly defied the odds and beat a state senator who had been running longer than he was alive for.
Join us today as Michael, Turt, and Will deep dive into being the change you want to see in the world, how nobody is coming to save us, the importance of asking questions, and balancing helping a larger group of people while staying true to yourself. There is no age too young, nor too old to have an impact on this world, and I'm sure Will's 15, 16, and 17 year old interns who could not even vote believed this , especially when President Obama publicly endorsed Will.
There is a lot of misconception about government out there and I strongly believe it is up to our generations to change it. Instead of complaining, let's lean in to the government and rewrite it ourselves. Will is such a model for me, because he is doing just that.
"Instead of throwing up your hands, you really outta roll up your sleeves. We can't sit back and wait for these problems to solve themselves."
Join us today as Michael speaks with Will on his book, "100,000 First Bosses: My Unlikely Path as a 22-Year-Old Lawmaker" and both his and our own roles in changing the future of the United States.
If not now, when? It's not one day, it's day one.
Would you like to manage your time better and make more while working less?
