Everyone longs to be seen. In Part 2 of our How to Win Friends and Influence People series, we’re looking at Dale Carnegie’s principle of making people feel important through the lens of scripture, and Kylie’s mom, Shelley (our beloved “Mama Pod”), joins Kylie and Shannon on the couch.
Carnegie teaches honest, sincere appreciation. Jesus modeled it, noticing the people everyone else overlooked, like the woman at the well, Zacchaeus, and the blind beggar. In this episode, we talk about how the Holy Spirit gives us the key to someone’s heart and how one simple prayer can change a person’s day: “Lord, put me in the right place, at the right time, with the right people.”
You’ll hear a prayer over breakfast that drew a stranger across the room, a bee sting at a 107-degree boutique that led a young woman back to Jesus, the 4 a.m. driveway encounter that changed Kylie’s life because one man chose to see her, and how a simple card slipped under a dressing room door led to a salvation backstage at the Andy Williams theater.
This week’s challenge: Write three thank-you notes. Encourage a coworker, tell your spouse something you appreciate about them, or compliment someone behind their back. People bloom where they’re appreciated.
If this episode blessed you, like, subscribe, and share it with a friend. Better yet, make it a challenge in your women’s group or church this week!
