What kind of fruit is growing in your home?

As moms, it can be easy to focus on behavior. Be kind. Have patience. Stop fighting. Use self-control. Choose joy.

But the Bible doesn't call these the fruit of good parenting or the fruit of trying harder. They are the fruit of the Spirit.

Instead of simply correcting the bad fruit we see, what if we helped our children recognize the Source of good fruit within them?

We're talking about how to encourage love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—not as a checklist of behaviors our children have to perform, but as evidence of a life increasingly yielded to the Holy Spirit.

And Momma, this starts with us.

Our children are watching how we respond when plans change, when patience runs thin, when someone hurts us, and when life doesn't go the way we expected. Everyday family life gives us countless opportunities to demonstrate what it looks like to walk by the Spirit.

You don't need a perfect home to grow good fruit.
