A proposito di questo titolo

Before colonialism took over the globe, before Christianity, Buddhism, and the other patriarchal Religions took hold, there were trans people. In fact, EVERY pre-colonized culture had a version of trans people, many having as many as 5 recognized genders. And in every colonization story--they were the first ones targeted and unalived. Why?

That's some of what we explore in PART TWO of our exploration of the pre-colonial cultures and their gender identities, how those identities evolved, and what they look like today--at least, the ones that still exist.

Today, we're covering another FOUR of those cultures, and the history of the gender-differing people within them. Namely, the 5 genders of the Bugis, the Irawhiti of the Māori, the Mahu of the Hawai'ian Islands, and the Fa'afafine of Samoa. Join us on this vision quest deep into the past to learn more about our present, what could have been, and what may still be to come!
