Here Jacob is humbled by the LORD, and shown that his final victory will not come from his own strength or cleverness, but from the LORD’s grace and mercy.

Advent Wednesday 3. December 17, 2025. What's in a Name? Immanuel. “God with us.” In a time of great fear, God revealed this name. A virgin would conceive and give birth. A human Child, but a miracle Child—and God himself come to dwell with his people. And in his light, all fear shall cease.

Advent Sunday 3. December 14, 2025. Is it too early for a gift? God comforts sinners: Your debt is double paid! So none miss out, God commissions a construction project to lift the despairing, and level the prideful. Reminding us all of our mortality, he calls us to shelter in Christ, forever.
