As love, betrayal, and shifting allegiances entangle Joseph, Lan, Paul, and Kim, the drama follows them through World War II, Japanese occupation, the rise of Vietnamese nationalism, and America’s war in Vietnam, tracing how personal passions and family loyalties are swept into the tides of history.
