Heb. 6.1-2 “1Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2of the doctrine of baptisms,

“One baptism”—“Two Baptisms”? Baptism is a solemn ceremonial act and is one and the same for all, by which believers in Christ are admitted into the fellowship of Christ’s Church, and which also is described as being baptized “into Christ”, a truly mystical encounter with God: Gal. 3.27 “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” What an interesting mind stretching scripture this is, it must certainly stimulate our spiritual curiosity. In addition, it must be noted that baptism has two separately but equally elements to it: initially being baptized in water, and subsequently being baptized in the Holy Spirit⎯one is outward dealing with sin and faith in Christ, and the other is inward dealing the spontaneity of life itself.
