Got it done. There was snow and slush on course no ice. Wore trail shoes. Lead whole race except maybe first .05 as someone took off fast. Had a minute at turn around. Glad wore trail shoes. I took 3 different pairs of shoes. My road race day wernt even given second thought. My road trainers were, i tired them and my trail race days on but road trainers were slipping. Traction won the day i feel shoe choice allowed me to win. I worked alot less harder had better grip while others were slipping. Felt decent. But not great. 1st mile was alot faster then expected. Pulled back some 2nd half race. No pressure on me. Stayed warm whole time. Never pushed to redline either. Could possibly of dropped a minute off if had to. Would been teetering on burn up though in conditions but could have. Happy with result. And how it went overall. My legs were not 100% so yea ill take it.
