Baby listeners, we have THOUGHTS.
We’re digging into the bizarre, brutal, occasionally cannibalistic epic poem and Nolan’s massive adaptation, including why Matt Damon’s Odysseus feels like a completely different man, whether Tom Holland was wildly miscast, the Circe scene we absolutely loved, the deeply depressing dog on the dung pile, and why kicking said dog means you obviously deserve to visit Hades first.
We also read four different translations of The Odyssey, which means we technically all read the same book while somehow not reading the same book at all. And after nearly 3,000 years of waiting, we finally answer the question Homer was definitely asking: Is the book actually better?
