For the final main entry in our Games of 2021 series, we are discussing the critically acclaimed MMORPG FINAL FANTASY XIV. In a first for Jen and Fenn, we are approaching this episode from two very different angles, the grizzled veteran who came in as a huge fan of the franchise and the late bloomer who doesn't even like FINAL FANTASY. And because Jen is only partway through the main quest, this episode is spoiler-free, hurrah! Highlights include a history of the game up to this point, from the disaster of its original release and subsequent resurrection as A Realm Reborn through to the present day, and our wholesome encounters with what is arguably one of the friendliest and least toxic gaming communities in existence.
