In this episode, we sit down with Jordan Rome: a multidisciplinary artist working across writing, film, and performance. “Just about every aspect of brewing is some sort of ritual for me.” On today’s episode, we sit down with Dave Carpenter: a Certified Cicerone, National-ranked judge in the Beer Judge Certificaton Program, avid homebrewer/beer traveler, and former editor of Zymurgy magazine, to speak about the rituals of beer and brewing. We discuss how brewing combines artistry and engineering, the seasonality of beer, and the community it can help create. Dave walks us through the sensory experience of enjoying a beer from imagining the food it will pair with to the first sniffs and sips. The ritual sisters left this interview

We were so lucky to have Brianne Tomaszewski on the podcast to talk about GRIT. This is a term that was popularized by Dr. Angela Duckworth and it’s about a combination of passion and perseverance for long-term, meaningful goals. As someone who is both a marathon runner/weight lifter and a mother of four in her personal life, and a researcher on supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve their full potential, we loved diving deep into this topic with her!
