Harrison Ford has spent decades playing some of cinema's most recognisable characters.

Han Solo. Indiana Jones. Jack Ryan. And that's just three.

So when we decided to pick our Top 10 favourite Harrison Ford movies, you might think this would be an easy list.

It wasn't.

For this Fast Forward episode, GB and AJ each brought five Harrison Ford favourites to the table - with one important rule: no Star Wars. Because all of those are in the Harrison Ford x Rewind Classic Movies Hall of Fame. And we could've found ourselves with 5 of those clogging up the list.

There are some obvious choices, some unexpected ones, and a few films that caused considerably more disagreement than expected.

And yes, Indiana Jones movies are in there - but not at the number one spot!?!

But perhaps the biggest surprise comes when we reach the top.

We also take a look at some honourable mentions, discuss Ford's particular talent for playing reluctant, capable everymen, and see how our personal choices compare with the critics.

So what's the greatest Harrison Ford movie? You'll have to listen to find out what made our final Top 10.

And we suspect you'll have a few choices of your own...What would make your Harrison Ford Top 5?

Next week: This is the end of Season 2 and we'll be back soon with some guest episodes before returning later in the year for Season 3!

We're back in a galaxy far, far away!

In Part 2 of our look at Star Wars: A New Hope (1977), GB and AJ pick up where we left off and dive into everything from the Death Star escape and the final trench run to some of the film's most memorable scenes, lines and characters (and a terrible ending?!?).

Why has Star Wars remained so beloved nearly 50 years later? We discuss the magic behind the film, its world-building, humour, music and visual effects - and whether it really deserves all the praise.

We also get into:

• Why the film feels like two completely different movies

• The Death Star hosting a heist movie

• Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader's lightsaber duel

• Luke switching off his targeting computer

• The medal ceremony and why it falls flat

• The legendary Cantina scene

• Han shot first and the many changes made to the movie

• Favourite scenes and lines

• Comments and opinions from our Patreon supporters

• And finally... how does AJ actually rank A New Hope?

There's also a little look ahead to next week's episode, when we turn our attention to one of cinema's biggest stars: Harrison Ford.

Next week: Join us as we look at our Top 10 Favourite Harrison Ford Movies of all time in the Season 2 final episode (we'll be back soon with some guest episodes before returning later in the year for Season 3).

We've finally done it. After two seasons of Rewind Classic Movies, GB and AJ sit down to talk about one of the most important films in cinema history: Star Wars.

But there's a slight problem.

GB has seen it hundreds of times. AJ … hasn't.

So what happens when a lifelong Star Wars fan sits down with someone who knows the cultural references but is still getting C-3PO mixed up with R2-D2?

Quite a lot, as it turns out.

We get into the characters, the casting, the incredible world-building, the visuals, the music and the sound design — and along the way uncover some of the stranger stories behind the film. From actors who could have played some of the most famous characters in cinema history, to the versions of Star Wars that have been changed, debated and fought over by fans for decades.

We also look at what makes the original film feel so convincing, why its production was quite as remarkable as it was, and what it's like to experience Star Wars with relatively fresh eyes nearly 50 years after it first arrived.

And yes, GB gets nerdy.

There's far too much to fit into one episode, so this is Part One of our two-part Star Wars conversation - making a total of three parts if you include last week's Why We Love Star Wars episode with guests Jody and Rick Martin.

So strap yourself in, try not to confuse your droids, and join us in a galaxy far, far away…

Next week: Join us for Part Two of A New Hope! (and the week after we Fast Forward to look at our Top 10 Favourite Harrison Ford Movies of all time).
