Welcome to RECKONING—A podcast for those who live wild and love hard. This is for the ones who get their hands dirty, crave honest conversations, and want more from life than just survival. Whether you're a mom, a dad, or somewhere in between—if you care about the outdoors, your health, your people, and your self—you're in the right place. Hosted by a woman who's raising kids in the mountains, building a brand from the ground up, and redefining what strength looks like in and out of the field—this show is where real life meets the wild life. We stoke a campfire and get raw—with old friends, new voices, pros, and those chasing big, bold dreams. We talk bowhunting, camping, business, beauty, motherhood, wellness, food, and everything in between. Sometimes we're learning from experts. Sometimes we're just shooting the shit. But always? It's real, it's raw, and it's here to remind you: you're not alone. We are the RECKONING. Let's light the fire.RECKONING LLC Scienze sociali
  • Rivers' First Deer: Kansas Whitetail | The Hunt for Chainsaw + His Story
    Oct 1 2026
#110: Rivers is 10 years old, a hunter, and a kid who refused to give up on the buck he wanted. In this episode of Reckoning, Rivers tells the story of his Kansas whitetail hunt — from why he was given the opportunity to hunt Kansas as a burn survivor with the R.A.W. Foundation, to meeting the buck he named "Chainsaw," missing his first opportunity, and ultimately getting another chance at his first Kansas whitetail. Before getting into the hunt, Rivers shares a little of his own story, including his accident and how hunting became such an important part of his life. He takes us through the hunt from his perspective: arriving in Kansas, long days in the blind, finding Chainsaw, the anticipation of another opportunity, and finally harvesting his first Kansas whitetail. He also talks about carrying his great-grandpa's knife throughout the hunt and why using it on his first deer was so meaningful to him. Add in Rawkee's hunt, family, kids being kids, and all the unexpected moments in between, and this Kansas deer hunt became a memory none of us will forget. This is Rivers' story — told in his own words. Watch Rivers RAW Challenge Video here! Get our FAVORITE links, codes & more here! • Hunting Camp Meals: Easy Make-Ahead Recipes & Food Prep Tips
    Sep 2 2026
#108: Hunting camp meals don't need to mean spending an hour cooking dinner after you've been hunting all day. In this solo episode of Reckoning, Brittney shares her favorite hunting camp meal ideas, make-ahead camping recipes, easy no-cook meals, breakfasts, snacks, and food prep tips to make feeding hunting camp a whole lot easier. The way we eat at hunting camp has changed over the years. When my boys were little and I sometimes stayed back at camp, I had time for big Dutch oven meals and dinners waiting when everyone got back from hunting. Now? I'm usually one of the hunters—and after being gone from before daylight until dark, the last thing I want to do is spend an hour making dinner. So we're talking about both. From Dutch oven Million Dollar Spaghetti, Blackstone picanha, and teriyaki chicken bowls to bacon-wrapped meatloaf prepped at home, chicken cordon bleu, build-your-own Italian subs, and hunting camp charcuterie, I'm sharing meal ideas for the nights you want to cook AND the nights you absolutely do not. We also get into make-ahead hunting camp breakfasts, including my tried-and-true breakfast burritos and sandwiches, apple-spice baked oatmeal, easy pack and truck snacks, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, caramel popcorn, and some of the things I've learned after years of feeding our family at hunting camp. In this episode: How I plan meals differently when I'm hunting vs. staying back at camp Easy hunting camp meals for busy hunting days Make-ahead meals you can prep before leaving home Dutch oven and Blackstone hunting camp dinner ideas No-cook meals for hot early-season hunts Hunting camp charcuterie—or adult Lunchables Make-ahead breakfast ideas for early mornings Pack and truck food for long days in the field Hunting camp snacks and treats Food prep and cooler tips that make camp easier How to intentionally use leftovers for another meal The biggest lesson? The harder I'm hunting, the less I want to cook. Whether you're planning elk camp, deer camp, a family hunting trip, or simply looking for easy camping meals you can prep ahead of time, this episode is packed with realistic ideas for eating well without making food another chore. Because some nights hunting camp means a big Dutch oven dinner around the fire—and some nights it means meat, cheese, crackers, and shooting the shit with your favorite people before crawling into bed. Both count. Be the Reckoning—in your life and in the woods. Chapters: 00:00 Intro: solo episode + hunting season catch-up 09:53 How to plan meals for hunting camp 10:57 Questions to ask before building your meal plan 15:16 Prep-ahead tips to make camp cooking easier 18:16 Crowd-pleaser dinner: Dutch oven million-dollar spaghetti 22:50 Quick camp dinner: picanha on the Blackstone 26:24 Teriyaki chicken bowls 30:11 Prep-ahead comfort meal: bacon-wrapped meatloaf 34:29 Chicken cordon bleu + easy no-cook dinner ideas 39:38 Breakfast ideas for camp 42:51 Truck, cooler, and backpack snack ideas 45:27 Camp desserts and treats 51:29 A simple hunting-camp meal-planning formula 54:06 Rapid-fire camp food and cooler tips 57:46 Final reminders + where to find more recipes Get our FAVORITE links, codes & more here!
