    "From an intrapsychic perspective, one might say that lesbians retain women as primary objects of gratification, though not necessarily of identification. This does not exclude erotic connection to men, nor does it necessarily imply masculine identifications. Psychoanalytic theory has been based on the confluence of gender identification and object choice. Lesbian eroticism as theorized or practiced does not appear to be." (pg. 53)
