What happens when witchcraft, plant magic, and practical self-defense come together?

In this episode of Mystical Mermaid Lounge, hosts Chloe Brown and Desert Radiant Star welcome bestselling author, green witch, and botanical magic practitioner Amy Blackthorn for a conversation about protection magic, intuition, plant spirits, shadow work, and reclaiming personal power.

Amy shares her journey from discovering witchcraft as a child to becoming an award-winning author and teacher of botanical magic. From her early fascination with plants to her experiences working in corporate security, she explains how her spiritual practice and real-world experiences shaped her approach to magical protection.

The conversation explores the relationship between intuition and personal safety, including how Amy's connection with plant spirits helped her recognize a dangerous situation in her own life. She discusses the importance of situational awareness, trusting your instincts, establishing boundaries, and understanding that spiritual protection and practical self-defense can work together.

Amy also introduces her book, Blackthorn's Botanical Shadow Work: Healing Through the Dark with Plant Magic, sharing how botanical allies can support the process of exploring difficult emotions, integrating hidden aspects of ourselves, and developing greater self-awareness.

Along the way, Amy reflects on the challenges of practicing witchcraft publicly, building relationships with plant spirits, and learning to trust ourselves through experience.

Whether you're exploring green witchcraft, curious about plant spirit communication, or interested in protection magic and shadow work, this conversation offers a grounded perspective on developing your magical practice while honoring your personal sovereignty.
