  • Episode 12: Pilots Helping Pilots: Why Membership Matters with Chris Muller and Alex Kluge
    Oct 30 2026

On this episode of Propelling Breeze, MEC Chair Alex sits down with Chris Muller, Breeze ALPA Membership Chair, to talk about what union membership means for Breeze pilots and why standing together matters as we work toward our first contract.

Chris shares how the membership committee reinvented the new hire briefing, swapping the PowerPoint for real conversations with line pilots about bases, reserve, retirement and the contract. Alex and Chris also walk through the member benefits many pilots don’t know about, including:

    • Loss of license coverage through age 65
    • The Aeromedical Advisory Service (AMAS) and how it can protect your medical
    • Your own ALPA attorney and safety engineer through the Orange Card
    • Peer support through the Critical Incident Response Program (CIRP)
    • Safety programs like ASAP and FOQA, plus jumpseat and interline travel

They also tackle common concerns about unions, explain how your voice shapes contract priorities, and remind new hires that membership is free for the first year.

Join the membership committee or learn more by reaching out to your Breeze ALPA representatives.

  • Negotiations Corner | Episode 2: Progress at the Table, Aggressive Pickup, and How Our Pay Rates Were Built
    Oct 21 2026

In Episode 2 of the Negotiations Corner, Alex sits down with Chris Howard for an update from last week’s bargaining sessions and a closer look at several key sections of the contract.

    In this episode:

    • Progress at the table: The company passed back the Pass Travel & Commuting and Scheduling sections, and ALPA’s finance specialist began exchanging costing information with the company.
    • Low-cost, high-value proposals: Why some items, like aggressive pickup, improve reliability and quality of life without adding real cost.
    • Aggressive pickup, explained: How reservists could pick up open-time trips ahead of time, what that means for commuters, and how it helps the operation.
    • Missed commutes: How the committee is writing language that keeps the company’s decision-making authority but makes it follow a clear, set order of steps.
    • Life on reserve: Why reserve quality of life shapes upgrades, retention, and staffing across our bases.
    • Why a contract matters: How defined, enforceable rules give stability and predictability to pilots and to management.
    • How our pay rates were built: The three-carrier, seat-adjusted method behind our proposed rates, and why it’s a starting point for negotiation, not a final demand.
    • Trip and duty rigs: What they are, why they cost little, and how they protect your pay and your days off.

Listen on your next commute or deadhead, and stay tuned for more episodes as negotiations continue.

  • Episode 11: At the Bargaining Table: Mediation, Unity and Lessons Learned
    Oct 5 2026

MXY MEC Chair Capt. Alex Kluge sits down with Capt. Sean Creed, former Spirit pilot and former ALPA vice president–administration/secretary, for a firsthand look at the mediation and negotiation process. Drawing from his experience leading Spirit pilots through years of mediation, a 30-day cooling-off period and ultimately a strike, Creed shares lessons that are especially relevant as MXY pilots enter mediation. The conversation explores what pilots can expect from the process, the role of the mediator and why staying informed, engaged and united can make a meaningful difference at the bargaining table.
