  • S.7 E.25 The Hope in our Scars: Finding God in Disillusionment: Aimee Byrd
    May 12 2024
This week I talk with a newfound friend who has gotten the holy crap beat out of her from toxic churches and evangelicals. Goodness. Unfortunately, her story is not unique, but she also holds in tension the hope within this type of theological disillusionment! Join us this week & listen in with Aimee Byrd. Aimee Byrd is a former coffee cafe owner who now uses her conversational barista skills as a writer and speaker. Her latest books blend contemplative thought with biblical theology. She lives in her hometown in Frederick, MD with her husband, Matt, and three young adult children who are in and out of the house. Aimee is the author of The Hope in Our Scars, The Sexual Reformation, Recovering from Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, Why Can’t We Be Friends?, No Little Women, Theological Fitness, and Housewife Theologian. She is a former cohost of Mortification of Spin podcast for the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, and currently cohost of Birds of a Feather YouTube cast with Mike Bird. Aime has articles published in Table Talk, Modern Reformation, First Things, By Faith, New Horizons, Ordained Servant, Common Good, Harvest USA, Credo Magazine, and was interviewed and quoted in Christianity Today and The Atlantic. https://twitter.com/aimeebyrdPYW https://www.instagram.com/aimeebyrdlife/ https://aimeebyrd.com/
