In this episode, we continue our introduction of the individual projects on fama in medieval Denmark. The laws are often an important place to look for talk and regulation of talk, and her postdoctoral Sigrun Borgen Wik examines exactly that: the Danish medieval laws and approach to fama and honour.
The interview is based on the article:
Vogt, Helle & Sigrun Borgen Wik '"Fame et honoris”? Reputation in twelfth and thirteenth century Danish law', submitted to The Legal History Review.
Host: Thomas K. Heebøll-Holm, associate professor of Medieval History at the University of Southern Denmark (Odense) and head of the research project “Fama in Medieval Denmark (c. 1240-1340): Rumors, Reputation and Public Opinion” https://www.sdu.dk/da/om-sdu/institutter-centre/iks/forskning/forskningsprojekter/fama
The project and show is supported by the Carlsberg Foundation.
