In this episode of Person-Centred Conversations, Abbey Brocklehurst is interviewed about her experience of misdiagnosis. Abbey Brocklehurst is a BACP Registered Person-Centred Therapist with an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice and a BA (Hons) in Psychology with Counselling. She has extensive experience working across private practice, charities, and a range of organisations. Having been misdiagnosed with BPD at the age of 21, which was later corrected to a diagnosis of AuDHD at age 31, Abbey brings both lived and counselling experience to her work, offering unique insight into the complexities and consequences of psychiatric labelling. Her practice is grounded in the values of empathy, authenticity, and respect for the client’s own capacity for growth.

Person-Centred Practice Community

In this short recording, Miha and Jamie share about the Women Contributors to the Person-Centred Approach Gatherings, which the Person-Centred Association organises.

Exploring how power, culture and gender shape the voices we hear and dont hear in the Person-Centred Approach, these gatherings are an opportunity to connect, discuss, and celebrate Person-Centred women from diverse cultures.

Person-Centred Practice Community

In this episode of Person-Centred Conversations, Punam Farmah and Peter Blundell @drpeterblundell discuss the human condition, post-humanism and person-centred practice. They refer to a paper by Gillian Proctor, the link to which is below. This wandering discussion connects and disconnects with various themes, and we encourage anyone listening who has a response to our discussion to record something of their own and submit it to the community to share.
