• Living in Two Places
    Oct 18 2026

In today's gospel reading from Matthew, Jesus answers a trick question from a strange pair of conspirators. By telling them that they are to "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" he throws a wrench into their plan to entrap him, but he also defines a reality. We live in two places. Well, as Martin Luther put it, Two Kingdoms. Both are ruled by God, one is heavenly and one is earthly. In this week's message, Pastor Paul talks about what it means to live in both.

  • The Vineyard's Surprise: Grace for the Latecomers
    Sep 20 2026

Pastor Paul explores the parable of the vineyard workers (Matthew 20), showing that salvation and forgiveness are gifts of God's grace rather than wages we earn. He ties this teaching to Jesus' call to discipleship and the coming passion.

The sermon also warns against attitudes that block understanding—self‑absorption, comparison, presumption, and judging others—and emphasizes that God's generous love is given equally: the last will be first.
