What if your prayers are smaller than they need to be?

In today's episode of Miracles of the Bible, we look at one of the boldest prayers in Scripture: the Sun Standing Still (Joshua 10:1-15).

Israel is facing a coalition of five enemy kings, and God is already fighting for them. He sends hailstones from heaven that do more damage than Israel's swords. But Joshua wants the victory finished, so he asks God, out loud and in front of the whole army, to make the sun stand still. And God does it.

The miracle is huge, but the boldness of the ask is what stays with me. Joshua had watched God show up again and again, so he expected Him to show up again. Our prayers are often small, not because God's power is limited, but because our expectations are.

What's one thing you've been afraid to ask God for? Tell me in the comments.

Can people take your word to the bank? As believers, our character not just our words or prayers is how we represent God to the world. Integrity means keeping your word even when it becomes costly or inconvenient, and having the courage to speak up if circumstances change. Just as Rahab risked her life trusting the spies' verbal promise, and Joshua's men faithfully honored that covenant, our words must carry weight and safety for others. Make it your standard to let your "yes" be yes, keep your promises, and build a life of trusted character.

Seasons shift, and circumstances change.

Yet through every season of uncertainty, God’s power remains undiminished, and His promises never fade.

Anchor your heart in the One who remains faithful yesterday, today and forever.

Water from the Rock Twice, in the middle of the desert, water pours out of solid stone. The second time comes with a hard lesson about weariness, obedience, and leadership.

Parting of the Red Sea Trapped between an army and the sea, Israel watches as the Lord tells Moses to raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. The water split in two.. The most iconic rescue in the Old Testament - and why the timing mattered so much.
