  • Helly Jelly with Founder Brittany Bygrave
    Oct 5 2026

In this episode of the PUSH Sea Moss Podcast, I sit down with Brittany Bygrave, founder of Butter’d Bodycare, for a conversation about clean beauty, entrepreneurship, and creating products with intention.

I first discovered Brittany through TikTok after coming across her breakout product, Helly Jelly — a plant-based, petroleum-free alternative to traditional petroleum jelly. Of course, I had questions! We talk about how Helly Jelly came to life, Brittany’s process of developing her products, the story behind Butter’d Bodycare, and what it really looks like to build a beauty brand around simple, thoughtful ingredients.

And because we love a good ritual, we also get into castor oil, natural oils, skin hydration, and some of the beauty rituals we're both loving right now.

We recorded this conversation at one of our favorite coffee shops in Harlem, The Oma Shop, a Black woman-owned space that made the perfect backdrop for this relaxed conversation between two founders who genuinely love plant-based beauty.

At PUSH, we're always looking for clean, effective rituals to add to our routines — and this conversation is all about discovering another one.

As always, we're not doctors. We simply love conversations around health, wellness and beauty, and sharing what we learn along the way.

Thank you for going on this healthy journey with us.

  • The Legacy of Edna Lewis & the Rise of Farm-to-Table Culture
    Aug 28 2026

Before farm-to-table became a trend, it was simply a way of life.

In this episode of the PUSH Sea Moss Podcast, host Cynthia Gitonga explores the beautiful legacy of Edna Lewis, the legendary chef who helped preserve and elevate the story of seasonal Southern cooking, farming, and food rooted in the land.

We talk about Edna’s beginnings in Freetown, Virginia, the traditions that shaped her cooking, and how so much of what we now call farm-to-table, clean eating, seasonal living, and even slow living has deep roots in Black communities.

Cynthia also takes the conversation to Jamaica, where growing your own food, harvesting coconuts, making castor oil, using herbs, raising animals, and knowing the people behind your food have been part of everyday life for generations. She shares how these same traditions inspire PUSH Sea Moss and PUSH Farms today.

This episode is about more than food. It’s about ancestry, ownership, wellness, farming, memory, and returning to the source—and remembering that some of today’s biggest wellness “trends” aren’t new at all.

    Come sit with us. 🌿
