  • 3: What De-Centering Men Actually Looks Like
    Apr 25 2026

I still think about him… but I don’t reach out.

In this episode, I talk about what it actually looks like to start de-centering men. Not in theory, but in real life, while you’re still healing.

I share the small ways I’ve been choosing myself again: getting back into my routines, going to the gym, spending time with friends, journaling, and starting this podcast. Not because I’m fully “over it,” but because I’m learning how to stop making someone else the center of my emotional world.

I also read and reflect on Reddit posts about what de-centering men looks like in practice — from no longer seeking male validation to becoming the main character in your own life. As one commenter put it, it’s about “not factoring men’s approval into every decision” and learning to prioritize your own needs and fulfillment.

Because maybe healing isn’t about not thinking about them anymore… maybe it’s about choosing yourself even when you still do.

After a breakup, the hardest part isn’t always missing them — it’s stopping yourself from going back to what hurt you.

In this episode, I read and reflect on Reddit posts about post-breakup boundaries and how people learn to protect their peace while still emotionally processing everything.

We talk about the “rules” that actually help you move forward, from no-contact to emotional detachment, and why consistency matters more than closure.
