  • The Martin Tankleff Case: Part One
    Nov 4 2026

Would you confess to killing your parents even if you didn't do it?

    No? Are you sure?

In the first part of the third episode of Our Only Boss Is The Law, our hosts dive into one of Gottlieb's most well-known cases, the false confession and subsequent wrongful conviction of Martin Tankleff for the murder of his parents in 1988.

They examine the environment that allowed for such a thing to happen and walk listeners through every step Gottlieb took back in 1988 to approach the case.

Part two comes out 11/11, and the trial will be covered in part three, with a special guest.

  • The Cornell Seven
    Oct 12 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

What is it like to defend someone accused of sexual assault? What happens when a state investigation falls short? And can someone be liable in civil court but not guilty of a crime?

In the second episode of Our Only Boss Is The Law, Gottlieb and Kreitenberg examine the lawsuit brought by Jane Doe against Cornell University and seven former Cornell students, now known as “The Cornell Seven.” They explore what defending one of the accused fraternity members would entail, scrutinize the university’s Title IX investigation and the District Attorney’s handling of the case, and examine the role of public opinion in a case where the stakes extend far beyond the courtroom.

  • Welcome to the Firm

Does the insanity defense mean you can just walk free? How much protection does legal immunity really offer? Why didn't Lindsay Clancy's lawyer point the finger at Clancy's husband?

In the very first episode of this podcast, venerated criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor Robert C. Gottlieb along with his senior associate Kaylee Kreitenberg discuss legal immunity and Tupac’s murder trial, and the Lindsay Clancy case and the insanity defense. Join them as they pull back the curtain on the machinations behind the trials that captivate all of us.
